Getting started exercises

Before we start

The following videos show the introductory exercises of vestibular rehabilitation for gaze stabilization, gaze transfer and gaze sequence as well as balance and walking exercises. Vestibular rehabilitation (also known as dizziness therapy / dizziness training) is an evidence-based and effective therapy for dizziness. As emphasized in the videos, we recommend that this therapy and the exercises should definitely be performed by specialized therapists. The exercises are simple and ideal for getting started with the therapy. In order to reduce the symptoms in the long term, the exercises must be steadily increased so that they correspond to the high level of everyday life! At the latest for this, you should definitely be supervised by a certified IVRT® therapist, who you can find here here.

Exercises against dizziness

Gaze stabilization

In this video, Firat Kesgin demonstrates the "gaze stabilization" exercise from vestibular rehabilitation. This exercise trains the 'stabilization of the image during movement', whereby objects (e.g. faces of fellow human beings or street signs) are seen sharply when moving the head / walking.

Gaze transfer

In this video, Firat Kesgin demonstrates the "gaze transfer" exercise from vestibular rehabilitation. This exercise trains the 'fast focusing of images after rapid head movements'.

View sequence

In this video, Firat Kesgin demonstrates the "gaze sequence" exercise from vestibular rehabilitation. This exercise trains 'following fast-moving objects'.

Balance exercise

In this video, Firat Kesgin demonstrates a balance exercise from vestibular rehabilitation. This exercise trains balance, which is required in the case of vestibular weakness/underfunction, especially in the dark and on uneven surfaces.

Walking exercise

In this video, Firat Kesgin demonstrates walking exercises from vestibular rehabilitation. This exercise trains dynamic balance when walking, which is required in the case of vestibular weakness/underfunction, especially during head movements and body rotations.
