Vertigo symptoms alleviated: habituation therapy in PPPD!

If your brain is at PPPD (persistent postural-perceptual dizziness) is visually hypersensitive; it reacts to everyday stimuli (supermarket, traffic, television) as if there were an acute danger.

It is here that habituation therapy begins in vestibular rehabilitation:

👉 The habituation principle: Habituation means that the brain becomes accustomed to stimuli when one repeatedly exposes it to them.

👉 Movement & Distraction: Through targeted, challenging or distracting movements, the nervous system learns that these stimuli are actually not dangerous at all.

👉 The most important insight: The brain directly experiences: The dizziness comes on suddenly, is not dangerous, and it also goes away again!

In this video, I explain how we can get the brain out of the vicious cycle of PPPD step by step.
